A beautiful little town. A,great place to eat or drink. A store across the street from the staute. A lot of great history about the statue.
Why visit the big island of Hawaii if you don't take time to visit some of it's historical spots. Rent a car. Drive, drive, drive. Stop and take a moment to get to know Hawaii. This site is one of those places. Not just because of the statue, but because of the Veterans historical information available also.
We specially went to see the statue and was a calm Experience. Parking was empty and this place is near to shopping area.
Easy off the road stop, you need to go in the shops across the street to park. He rose to power in 1782 and (K1) ruled unified Hawaii from 1810 to 1819.

When we arrived there was just no one and we once thought we have arrived at a wrong place. Probably the traffic to this place is surprisingly very low. There are benches in the park and perfect for having snacks/food.
