Very beautiful spot but make sure you actually take the trail down to the beach. The lookout from the top has pretty good views but they get even better as they go down.
What a lovely gem of a place! Very good for hiking and what a hike! Very stoney terrain, sturdy shoes a must. The view hiking down is wonderful. When you get down (what does it matter, how long it takes - ample photo opportunities) the black sand beach, the lush green trees and river that runs opposite to the ocean. Beautiful ocean bay with rugged cliffs. We saw loads of sand crabs.
Absolutely gorgeous! On rainy days the trail down is very slippery. I would not recommend it for older folks without two walking sticks, even then the slip factor needs to be considered. I highly recommend going down into the valley and up the opposite summit. There are two branches there that overlook more beauty. The trail up that summit isn't as slippery when wet, but it can be very muddy, like sink to you ankles in some spots.
The area at the bottom has a beautiful forested path that's very pleasing on the eyes.
The hike was slippery. Me and my wife both did the hike with reef shoes. But I recommend proper hiking shoes. The first part of the hike was worse than the rest. Once you cross the first turn, it gets better. There are lots of stone on the trail that makes the rest of the trail easy.
The valley was mesmerizing. The hike is really worth. The last bend is where you will get the best view of the valley unless you go deep inside. The black sand beach was amazing and the sand was powder like unlike other black sand beaches on the island.
Paradise !!! Great Hike, breathtaking views , amazing experience. View from lookout is serene . you have to hike to get close to the beach , which is fun ! Trails lead you to Black sand beach and you would witness some local vendors selling star fruit and coconuts .
