Cool hike spot. We had some falling rocks as we ascended on our return so keep an eye out for that. Usually after a rain event some loosen. Also, after rain the track gets very slippery. Once at the bottom you feel a little like you'r eon a movie set as the valley seems enormous as do the trees. The beach is a volcanic rock/sand, jet black and intermixed with a variety of other coloured rocks. Really cool. My wife and I did the walk easily, people with a disability or uncomfortable on rough, slippery or mixed surfaces are unlikely to find the walk accessible. It gets warm climbing back up, make sure you have water in the car when you get back up. If you're likely to need a stick to balance yourself on the way up, grab one of the many from the top as all the ones at the bottom are left there by previous climbers.

This is a stunning trail that goes down to the beach! It is steep so only go as far as you're willing to climb back up, but once you make it down, it's so worth it. You have the ocean and the mist, the black sand beach and trees and cliffs all around you. So surreal!

Great Hike !! get there early to get parking and bring some water.

This place is great. A little hike but well worth.

We drove to the overlook as a side trip. Worth it for spectacular views.
